McAfee has announced that it's going to acquire Trust Digital. Trust Digital is a leading provider of enterprise mobility management (EMM®) and security software for Forbes Global 2000 companies. "McAfee expects that Trust Digital’s strong foot-hold in the mobile security market will extend McAfee’s endpoint market, addressing a wide range of mobile operating systems including iPhone OS, Android, Web OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian."

Password Reset Scam Targeting Facebook Users
McAfee reports in their log about global scam campaign that targets Facebook users. One example email subject used is "Facebook Password Reset Confirmation! Customer Support.". The message states that recipient's Facebook account password has been changed and new password can be found in attached document. "The malware in the attachment is pretty much what one would expect: downloaders, password-stealing Trojan, fake-AV, or bot stuff, depending on which one you got".

Avert Labs has published a research paper called “Inside the Password-Stealing Business: the Who and How of Identity Theft”.
The report uncovers technical details on the capabilities, level of sophistication, and inner workings of the most infamous contemporary password-stealing malware families such as Zbot, Sinowal, and Steam Stealer. Discussed topics are also the prevalence of such malware, distribution channels, how criminals keep up with the changes banks make to keep transactions secure, and how they exploit today’s economic climate.

The Most Dangerous Search Terms
Security company McAfee made a research for the most dangerous search terms. The research was made with more than 2,500 popular keywords. The report shows that chances to end up browsing malicious site are the highest with terms like "free music downloads" or "screensaver". The most dangerous search terms varied a lot between the countries.

McAfee Makes A $465 Million Offer Of Secure Computing
Security company McAfee announced on Monday (22-09-08) that it has placed a deal to acquire security company Secure Computing. Deal is worth around US$465 million.
With Secure Computing, McAfee expects to be able to deliver the complete content and data lifecycle management at the network, spanning detection, filtering, encryption, blocking, archiving, reporting and compliance. Also, McAfee hopes to expand its security as a service offering and to sell more products and services to Secure Computing's 22,000 customers worldwide.
The deal is expected to close toward the end of the fourth quarter, McAfee said.
